FAQ

Candidate Questions

How will I be notified of next steps?

Keep a close eye on your email. They will contact you directly to schedule your next phase. Once your interview is scheduled, tell your recruiter immediately so they can help you prepare and ensure you have everything you need to make a great first impression.

Should I bring anything specific to my interview?

They LOVE to see examples and data in interviews. They want to see what you’ve been able to accomplish in the past so be sure to have those on hand before your interview.

The key to most interviews is to research the company. Make sure you take the time to learn a little bit about the semiconductor industry, the company itself, and what they’ve been focusing on (Quality, Quantity, and Safety).

Make sure to bring a pen and paper to your interview. They want to see that you’re as excited as they are to join the team and want to see you taking notes throughout the interview.

What are semiconductors?

What is the company’s role in the semiconductor industry?

This Fortune 500 company is the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer. They are responsible for an estimated 90% of the world’s advanced semiconductors which are used in smartphones, artificial intelligence, and more.

About the opportunity: Why are they expanding into the US?

Backed by CHIPS Act, this company is expanding into the US to strengthen the supply chain, support customers, and help the country become more economically competitive. The new facilities in Phoenix will produce the smallest microchips which are used in artificial intelligence, smart devices, and other advanced applications. It’s important to note that they are a foundry, not an OEM. They don’t design chips but instead manufacture the most high-end wafers in the industry.

Understanding the CHIPS Act and its impact on the industry.

The CHIPS Act, signed into law in 2022, aims to attract microchip manufacturing back to the US. This act includes $52 billion in manufacturing grants/research investments and a 25% investment tax credit. Read more here.
